Fronter users were unable to login to Fronter between 5.20pm and 7.00pm yesterday, Thursday 18th June. Initial investigations have shown that this was related to issues at the Oslo based hosting centre. Problems related to the blade servers and load balancing resulted in Fronter being unavailable. The emergency and hosting teams were immediately aware and access was restored by 7pm.
Further investigations and analysis are taking place today and a further update will be made available via the support site located at www.frontersupport.co.uk before the end of business today, Friday 19th June.
We apologise to all users who were unable to access Fronter yesterday evening and we are working to identify the exact causes and appropriate actions to ensure this doesn’t happen again. Fronter prides itself on its’ availability record and we take this issue very seriously. Regards
Fronter Team |

Fronter is very happy to update our users on the status of efforts towards meeting Online Reporting requirements laid out by Becta: - All secondary schools providing parents with online reports by September 2010
- All primary schools meeting the requirement by September 2012
Fronter is committed to providing a cost effective solution that allows schools to meet the DCSF expectations for Online reporting. Fronter is aware that schools will require the opportunity to implement a solution prior to September 2010 (and September 2012 for Primary Schools). To this end Fronter intends to provide a substantive solution before June 2010, which will be agnostic towards the MIS schools have chosen to implement.Fronter is committed to providing not just sufficient functionality to meet the expectations of Online reporting but to actually surpass those expectations and deliver a Learning Environment that underpins education and supports improvements in Learning and Teaching. Fronter is working together with many representatives from MIS solutions, Local Authorities and schools to provide the best possible solution for our users. For more information please read our Online Reporting Position Statement. Further details and updates will be made available periodically in line with our commitment to keeping Fronter schools and Local Authorities abreast of the developments. |
